The attraction of visitors to, and tourism in, Furness continues to be one of the area’s success stories.  Between 1992 – 1997, visitor numbers rose strongly to 41% and tourism expenditure rose from £63 million to £105 million. Day visitor numbers rose 39% and the value of their spend rose 66% to £106 million. Since 2000 tourism has continued to grow.
