The Workshop

The Workshop’s aim is to improve the employment prospects of non-working residents from Barrow Borough.

To qualify for funding support you must live in the Borough of Barrow.

Our skilled and experienced advisers meet with clients to offer advice, guidance and support on a one-to-one basis tailoring to client’s needs and requirements.

This is a free and confidential service with no mandatory tasks for the client.

The Workshop has a range of resources to enable clients to access and use the service such as: IT facilities for compiling CV’s and job searching on the internet, a telephone/fax for job enquiries and up-to-date newspapers to view at your convenience.

Registered clients are encouraged to develop their skills relating to employment through other initiatives such as Impact, NHS Academy ofr Health NW and Interview Skills courses.

The Workshop Support Fund assists clients facing financial barriers in gaining employment and has been used to supplement costs such as: Childcare, Training, Interview Clothing and other associated costs.
