Kimberly-Clark Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park Barrow Mill is the largest tissue Mill in Europe. The site is 72 acres and the Mill operates 365 days per year, 24 hours a day. It supports two Kimberly-Clark businesses: KC Professional making products such as industrial wipes; and Consumer - Family Care producing well known brands such as Andrex, and a full range of Kleenex facial tissues. The mill currently employs 427 people and was opened by Bowater Scott in 1967, in 1986 became Scott Limited, and then in 1996 a merger took place with Kimberly-Clark. Since the merger The Mill has successfully positioned itself as part of the strategic footprint for Kimberly-Clark Europe and has attracted £125M investment since 1996.
